## 🔧 Product Description

- Volvo Penta TWD730ME
- Volvo Penta TWD1030ME

## ⚙️ Key Features

- 0.006 kg
- 5 applications across the TWD and DH ranges

## 🔌 Function

Clamps a light component to its mounting through an internal hexagon head, allowing tightening in a recess.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Screw backing off in service
- Socket rounded so a key will not bite
- Thread stripped or picked up
- Corrosion in the head recess

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Use a hex key or bit that fills the socket fully and is not rounded off — a sloppy tool fit is what ruins these heads
- Clean paint, sealant and dirt out of the socket before engaging the tool, and check the threads and the mating face are clean and dry
- Tighten to the figure and sequence given in the workshop manual for the assembly, rather than by feel — socket screws are often used where clamp load matters and access is poor
- Renew any screw whose socket is damaged, and refit with thread-locking compound only where the manual for that assembly calls for it
- Start every screw by hand so it picks up the thread square, particularly into aluminium housings where a cross-threaded start ruins the casting
