# 994303 Reduction Nipple | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta reduction nipple for the oil drain, weighing 0.105 kg and listed for 13 applications on D series engines. A reduction nipple steps between two different sizes, so the oil drain application is what identifies it - the other nipples in this range are straight, elbow or T fittings and will not do the same job.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- For the oil drain
- Reduction form, stepping between two sizes
- 0.105 kg
- Listed for 13 applications
- Fits D series engines

## 🔌 Function

Steps the oil drain connection from one thread size down to another, letting the drain line join a port it would not otherwise fit.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Oil weeping or dripping from the drain connection
- Thread damaged, crossed or picked up on either size
- Nipple turning in its housing under the spanner
- Sealing face scored or dished
- Bore restricted by sludge or debris

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- Renew the sealing washer or seal at the drain joint rather than reusing it
- Check the bore is clear of sludge before fitting, and catch the oil - a drain joint left weeping puts oil into the bilge
