- 6 applications on D and TAD series engines

## 🔌 Function

Provides a fixed threaded anchor screwed into the casting, so the joint can be clamped and unclamped with a nut without working the casting thread each time.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Stud pulling out of the casting with the nut
- Thread stretched or necked along the exposed length
- Stud bent or the free end damaged
- Corrosion along the exposed shank locking the nut
- Joint losing clamp load because the stud has stretched

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- The 225 mm length is what decides this row - the other studs in this group, 994658 at 0.085 kg, 994741 at 0.034 kg and 994776 at 0.027 kg, are quite different fastenings
- A stud that came out with the nut has usually taken casting thread with it; check the tapping before fitting the new one
