# 9996645 Extractor | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta extractor weighing 4.831 kg - Volvo's own special tools catalogue lists it as a puller, and it is by some margin the largest of the four extractors listed in this run. The catalogue names its engines: the D11 range from D11-510 and D11A-A through the D11B marine engines, the D13 range from D13B-A MP to D13C7-A MP, D8A1-A MP and the D9 range from D9-425 to the D9A2 engines. It supersedes part number 9991531, which was catalogued earlier as a puller and is also superseded by spacer 9996394 - so that old number now maps onto two current tools.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- Listed for the D8, D9, D11 and D13 engine ranges
- Catalogued by Volvo as a puller
- Extractor, 4.831 kg
- Supersedes 9991531, catalogued earlier as a puller
- 9991531 is also superseded by spacer 9996394 - check whether both are needed

## 🔌 Function

Grips and draws a seized or interference-fitted component out of its housing.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Jaws or hooks worn round, so the tool slips off under load
- Legs bent or splayed after a heavy pull
- Thread stretched, picked up or stripped
- Cracks at a jaw root or leg pivot
- Tool pulling off centre instead of drawing straight

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- The old 9991531 is covered by this extractor and spacer 9996394 together; ordering one alone can leave the set incomplete
- At 4.831 kg this is not a one-handed tool - support it while the pull is taken up
- Keep out of the line of pull; a heavy extractor that lets go throws itself and the component
