# 9998115 Service Tool - Sealing Plate (9998115) | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

## 🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta special tool 9998115, weighing 1.018 kg. Our listing has carried it as a sealing plate, which never fitted a weight of over a kilogram, and Volvo Penta's own TAMD61A workshop manual settles it: the special tools list names 9998115 a seal plate for pressure testing the cylinder block on the 7(x) series, and states that two are required. Seal plate 9998114 is the same tool for the 6(x) series and is published at 0.923 kg, so the engine series is what decides which one you need.

## ⚙️ Key Features

- Named a seal plate for pressure testing the cylinder block in Volvo Penta's TAMD61A workshop manual, not a sealing plate
- For the 7(x) series; 9998114 is the equivalent plate for the 6(x) series
- Two are required to carry out the test
- 1.018 kg
- A special tool for a workshop procedure, not an engine spare

## 🔌 Function

Seals the cylinder block so it can be held under test pressure while it is checked for leaks. Two plates are used together for the test.

## ⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

- Test pressure will not hold, or bleeds away steadily once the block is pressurised
- Sealing face scored, nicked or picked up
- Plate bowed or dished after being pulled down too hard
- Corrosion or pitting across a sealing face
- Fixing holes elongated, or cracking at an edge

## 🛠️ Service Notes

- The sealing plate heading against this number is a mis-description; the workshop manual calls for it as a seal plate
- Two plates are needed for the test, so order in pairs unless one is already on the shelf
- 9998114 is the 6(x) series plate, so confirm the engine series before ordering
