The socket couples the pump to a dial or indicating torque wrench so the pump can be rotated carefully against its stop while the installation torque is measured. This listing is for one special socket / sleeve only. The torque wrench, control-rod locking tool, pump measuring tool, shims, injector pump and flange hardware are not included.

🚤 Compatibility

 Year Range:

 Approximately late 1990s through 2000s

⚙️ Key Features

Genuine Volvo Penta injector-pump fitting socket

 Correct Volvo tool number 11668403

Used with an indicating torque wrench

Allows controlled rotation and positioning of the mechanical injection pump

 Required during pump installation and injection-timing setup on D5A / D7A / D7C engines

 Engine type: Volvo Penta D5A / D7A / D7C and corresponding TAD / TD mechanical-injection diesel engines

🔌 Function

The socket transfers controlled torque from the indicating wrench to the injection pump. The technician rotates the pump to its stop, records the turning torque and then tightens the pump flange according to the specified procedure.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

Drive rounded or spread, so the wrench slips under load

Engagement faces worn, which shows up as torque readings that will not repeat

Cracking around the drive end after repeated over-loading

Burrs on the tool that transfer onto the pump flange

🛠️ Service Notes

Use it with an indicating torque wrench - the turning torque is the measurement the procedure depends on, not just a tightening figure

A rounded or spread drive makes the reading meaningless, so replace the socket rather than persevering with it

🔄 Supersession & Cross Reference

OEM / Related Numbers

9998684 related control-rod measuring and locking tool

 9998685 related injector-pump measuring tool

 9998679 related 360-degree protractor

 9998682 related control-rod pressure / locking tool

Other-Brand OEM Numbers

VOE11668403 Volvo Construction Equipment formatted reference

📦 Condition

 Genuine Volvo Penta part

 Brand new

Supplied in original or equivalent packaging

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0994/8115/7924/files/original_58d69e45-ce20-48cd-9a97-45b42fa172d3.jpg?v=1788053506
