3801898-injector-exch-genuine-volvo-penta
3801898 Injector Exch | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta remanufactured injector for positions 1, 3 and 5, supplied as an exchange part, from the Fuel System group, weighing 0.964 kg and listed for 3 applications in the TAD series. It supersedes part number 3801802, catalogued earlier as a unit injector. Injector 3801897 covers positions 2, 4 and 6 and is over 300 grams heavier, so the two are not interchangeable. This unit is supplied on an exchange basis: core deposit 3804898 is charged alongside it and refunded once the old unit is returned, so both numbers appear on the order.

🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

 Volvo Penta TAD1380-82GE

 Volvo Penta TAD1381-85VE

 Volvo Penta TAD1384-85VE-IWP

 Engine Family:

 TAD

⚙️ Key Features

 For positions 1, 3 and 5

Exchange part - old injector returnable

 0.964 kg

Supersedes 3801802, catalogued earlier as a unit injector

🔌 Function

Meters, pressurises and atomises the fuel charge for its cylinder under the engine control system's timing.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

Misfire or rough running on one of the odd-numbered cylinders

White smoke and a raw fuel smell when cold

Knock from one cylinder that changes with fuelling

Hard starting and poor fuel economy

Fuel in the oil, showing as a rising level

🛠️ Service Notes

Injector 3801897 is the positions 2, 4 and 6 part - identify the cylinder position before ordering

Injector 3801896 is within grams of this one on published weight, so order by number rather than by weight

Fit new sealing rings and a new copper washer, and reset the injector adjustment to specification

Core deposit 3804898 is charged with this unit and refunded when the old one is returned - order both together

🔄 Supersession & Cross Reference

OEM Supersession Chain

 3801898 → Supersedes 3801802

OEM / Related Numbers

3801802 earlier number superseded by this part

📦 Condition

 Genuine Volvo Penta part

 Brand new

Supplied in original or equivalent packaging

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0994/8115/7924/files/original_6682cacd-7274-4eb4-a592-f91259636f06.jpg?v=1788074647
