872863-aquamatic-drive-genuine-volvo-penta
872863 Aquamatic Drive | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta Aquamatic sterndrive unit for the 2.30:1 ratio, from the Marine Propulsion group, weighing 58.967 kg and listed for eight applications across the TMD, AD, DP and TAMD series. It supersedes 3803224 and 872780, catalogued earlier as a drive and a reconditioned Aquamatic drive. The other 2.30:1 drive in this run is 872784, which replaces a different set of numbers and is listed for five applications - the ratio alone will not separate them, so match the number your engine is recorded against.

🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

 Volvo Penta TMD31D

 Volvo Penta AD31D

 Volvo Penta AD31D-A

 Volvo Penta AD31XD

 Volvo Penta DP-D1

 Volvo Penta TAMD41P

 Volvo Penta TAMD31M

 Volvo Penta TAMD31D

 Engine Family:

 TMD, AD, DP, TAMD

⚙️ Key Features

 For the 2.30:1 ratio

 58.967 kg

 Supersedes 3803224 and 872780

Eight applications across TMD, AD, DP and TAMD

The other 2.30:1 drive here is 872784

 Ratio 2.30:1 (Volvo assembly listing)

Also supersedes Volvo part number 872303

🔌 Function

Takes the drive through the transom and down to the propeller, providing the gearing, the steering pivot and the trim movement in one unit.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

Vibration or noise from the drive under way

Milky oil or an oil level that keeps dropping

Play at the propeller shaft or at the input coupling

Water in the bellows area or corrosion around the transom

Drive slow, noisy or reluctant to engage

🛠️ Service Notes

Two 2.30:1 drives appear here - check whether your engine is recorded against this number or 872784

Renew the bellows, seals and anodes while the drive is off the transom

Check the transom shield and gimbal bearing at the same time

🔄 Supersession & Cross Reference

OEM Supersession Chain

 872863 → Supersedes 3803224

OEM / Related Numbers

872780 earlier number superseded by this part

3803224 earlier number superseded by this part

📦 Condition

 Genuine Volvo Penta part

 Brand new

Supplied in original or equivalent packaging

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0994/8115/7924/files/original_45c8e96d-cd98-44f6-95a1-cd652a8e91e3.jpg?v=1788101751
