Inboard Engine Servicing, Any Make or Model

Inboard-powered boats — cruisers, sports boats and larger fishing vessels — depend on an engine that's properly maintained, because a fault at sea is a very different problem to one on the road. Our Kadina workshop services and repairs inboard engines across the full range of makes and models, from routine annual servicing through to diagnosing engines that aren't running right.

What's Involved

  • Oil and filter changes for the engine and gearbox
  • Checking and replacing impellers, belts and hoses
  • Fuel system and injector checks
  • Cooling system inspection, including heat exchangers and raw water strainers
  • Checking shafts, couplings and engine mounts for wear
  • Electrical and charging system checks

Where a boat is running poorly, losing power, overheating or hard to start, we work through the fault methodically, using diagnostic equipment where the engine supports it, to identify the cause before recommending repairs.

Vessels We Work On

We service shaft-drive and sterndrive inboard installations across recreational and light commercial vessels, whatever the brand of engine, including as the authorised Volvo Penta dealer for South Australia.

Where We Work

Most inboard servicing and repair work is carried out at our Kadina workshop. For larger vessels or work that needs the boat out of the water, we can coordinate this with a haul-out at the Wallaroo Marina slipway.

Why Annual Servicing Matters

Inboard engines are harder to inspect than an outboard on the transom, so problems with impellers, hoses or cooling systems can go unnoticed until they cause bigger damage. An annual service, ideally before the start of the boating season, is the best way to catch wear early and head into summer with confidence.

What to Expect

When you book an inboard in, let us know any symptoms you've noticed, along with the engine's make, model and approximate hours if you have them. This helps us plan the service or diagnostic work before the boat arrives.
