New Engine Fit-Ups & Repowering
New Engine Fit-Ups and Boat Fit-Outs
Repowering a boat or fitting a new engine package is a significant job, and getting the installation right affects everything from performance to safety. Sawley's Auto and Marine carries out new engine fit-ups and boat fit-outs, from a single outboard repower through to a complete new engine package.
What's Involved
- Assessing the vessel and advising on suitable engine options
- Removing the old engine, where applicable, and preparing the transom or engine bay
- Fitting the new engine, controls, wiring and rigging
- Fitting associated equipment such as fuel systems, gauges and steering where needed
- Setting up and testing the new engine once installed
As the authorised Volvo Penta dealer for South Australia, we can supply and fit new Volvo Penta marine engines and packages, and we also carry out fit-up work across other outboard and inboard brands.
Vessels We Work On
New engine fit-ups suit anything from a tinnie getting a new outboard through to a cruiser being repowered with a new sterndrive or inboard package.
Where We Work
Fit-up work is carried out at our Kadina workshop. For larger vessels, we can coordinate a haul-out at Wallaroo Marina where the installation requires the boat out of the water.
Planning a Repower
A new engine is a big investment, so it's worth talking through your options before committing — the right engine depends on the boat, how it's used, and what you're trying to achieve. Get in touch early, as fit-up work is best scheduled around the quieter parts of the season.
What to Bring
If you're considering a repower, details like your current engine's make, model and hours, along with how you use the boat, help us recommend the right options.
