🔧 Product Description

Genuine Dunbier Marine Products Dacromet-Coated Long Alloy-Wheel Nut - Part Number: 1489B

A long-profile wheel nut for compatible Dunbier alloy trailer wheels. The Dacromet-coated finish provides corrosion protection for marine use and is intentionally different from decorative chrome plating.

⚙️ Key Features

• Long-body profile suited to compatible alloy-wheel recesses

• Dacromet corrosion-resistant finish

• Designed for trailer wheel-stud service

• Suitable for replacement of damaged or incorrect alloy-wheel nuts

• Supplied as one individual nut

📏 Specifications

• Thread size: Commonly 1/2-inch UNF in the Dunbier alloy-wheel range; verify the wheel stud

• Nut style: Long alloy-wheel nut

• Finish: Dacromet coated, not chrome

• Pack quantity: 1

• Seat profile must match the wheel's machined nut seat

📋 Supplied Components

• 1 × Dacromet-coated long alloy-wheel nut

🔄 Cross Reference & Related Parts

• Five-nut pack: Dunbier 1489 / Mackay A1378C-5

🚤 Compatibility & Application

• Compatible Dunbier alloy wheels using the same stud thread and nut-seat geometry

• Do not use a tapered nut on a flat-seat wheel or a flat-seat nut on a tapered wheel

• Thread engagement must be adequate and the nut must not bottom before clamping the wheel

• Tighten in a cross pattern to the hub or trailer manufacturer torque

• Recheck torque after the initial short trip and after wheel removal

🔌 Function

Clamps the alloy wheel securely against the trailer hub and transfers wheel loads into the studs.

Common signs of wear, damage or replacement required:

• Threads are stretched, stripped or cross-threaded

• Seat is galled, cracked or deformed

• Nut repeatedly loses torque

• Dacromet coating is damaged and severe corrosion develops

• Hex flats are rounded
