⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

🛠️ Service Notes

• Renew the sealing washers, O-rings or seals that belong to the connection rather than reusing them, and do not put jointing compound on a fuel union to cure a weep
• Fit the hose without twist, and support and clip it along its run so it cannot chafe or hang its own load on the end fittings
• Keep the hose clear of hot exhaust and moving parts, and cap the open ends while working so nothing gets into the fuel system
• Tighten unions to the figure given in the workshop manual for your engine — overtightening a fuel fitting distorts the seat and makes the leak permanent
• Bleed the fuel system afterwards, then run the engine and check the whole run for weeps under working pressure, with no ignition sources near and a means of containing spilt fuel to hand
