🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta module, part number 22756343. Parts records outside our own listing show this number replaced by 22864982, so check which number is current for your engine before you order. It is one of eight module numbers in the 22756337 to 22756346 run - 22756337, 22756338, 22756340, 22756342, 22756343, 22756344, 22756345 and 22756346 - which are listed under the same name with nothing published to tell them apart, so order against the number marked on the unit you are replacing. The listing carries no published specification for it: no weight, no dimensions, no length and no engine application, and no separate specification sheet, installation instruction or accessory brochure covering this number could be found. Confirm the application against your own engine before ordering.

🔌 Function

Volvo Penta builds its engine and vessel electronics as a distributed network of control units, or nodes, spread around the boat: each one reads the sensors, switches and controls next to it, applies the logic it has been programmed with, drives its own outputs, and talks to the other units over the vessel's data bus. The installation manual for the EVC-C system describes that arrangement directly, with a Powertrain Control Unit in the engine room and a Helm station Control Unit at the helm. A module is one of those units. Which particular role this number fills is not published anywhere we could find, so confirm the application against your own engine and control system before ordering.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Fault codes or alarms that keep returning after the sensors and wiring have been checked and the codes cleared
  • Intermittent misbehaviour that comes and goes with vibration, damp or engine temperature
  • Engine will not start, cuts out, or drops into a reduced-power or default mode with no mechanical cause to be found
  • The display or diagnostic equipment reports a control unit that is not responding or no longer communicating
  • Corrosion, green deposits or water tracking in the connector, or a casing that is cracked, swollen or heat-damaged

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Check the connector and the loom feeding the unit before condemning it. Corroded pins, a chafed wire and a poor earth all produce the same symptoms as a failed module and all cost a fraction of one to put right.
  • A replacement electronic control unit normally has to have the software for your engine loaded into it using Volvo Penta's own VODIA diagnostic application, which is held by authorised dealers rather than sold to owners. Arrange that before the unit goes in, not after.
  • Because a superseding number is recorded against this one, confirm with Volvo Penta which number their system currently issues for your engine before ordering.
