Transfers heat from the engine oil into the coolant circuit.

  • High oil temperature under load

  • Internal fouling reducing heat transfer

🛠️ Service Notes

  • The core is aluminium, so use a coolant approved for aluminium engines and keep the inhibitor topped up - the wrong coolant pits an aluminium core from the inside
  • Renew the sealing rings on refitting
  • If it has failed internally, flush both circuits before returning to service
