Device & Accessory Fitting
Marine Device and Accessory Fitting
Adding the right electronics and accessories can make a real difference to how a boat performs and how enjoyable it is to use. Sawley's Auto and Marine fits a wide range of marine devices and accessories, from GPS units and fishfinders through to radios and beyond.
What's Involved
- Assessing the best mounting position and wiring path for the device
- Installing and wiring GPS units, chartplotters and fishfinders
- Fitting marine radios and communication equipment
- Running and properly terminating wiring to avoid corrosion issues
- Testing and setting up the device once fitted
What We Fit
Beyond GPS and fishfinder combo units and radios, we fit a range of other marine accessories and electronics on request — if you're not sure whether we can fit a particular device, it's worth asking.
Vessels We Work On
Device and accessory fitting suits any vessel, from a tinnie getting its first fishfinder through to a cruiser being fitted out with a fuller electronics package.
Where We Work
Fitting work is carried out at our Kadina workshop.
Getting It Fitted Properly
Marine electronics are exposed to vibration, moisture and salt air, so proper mounting and wiring matters — a poorly fitted unit or badly run cable is a common cause of corrosion and intermittent faults down the track. If you're chasing an existing electrical fault, see our engine and electronic fault finding service. Having it fitted properly the first time saves chasing problems later.
Bringing Your Own Unit
If you've already purchased a GPS, fishfinder or radio and just need it fitted, that's not a problem — bring the unit in along with any mounting bracket and we'll take care of the installation and wiring. Many customers add electronics gradually, expanding a system as their boating needs change.
