Genuine BRP Propeller-Shaft Housing O-Ring - Part Number: 0326849


A genuine BRP large-diameter O-ring used to seal the propeller-shaft housing or bearing carrier in selected high-horsepower Evinrude, Johnson and OMC gearcases.


The seal has an approximate 4.250-inch inside diameter and 0.135-inch cross-section. It is used in selected V4 60-degree, V6, V8, M-Type and OMC Cobra gearcases.

🔌 Function


The O-ring seals the outer diameter of the propeller-shaft housing against the gearcase, retaining lubricant and blocking water entry.


Common signs of failure:


• Gear oil leaking around the bearing carrier

• Milky or contaminated lower-unit lubricant

• Gearcase fails pressure or vacuum testing

• O-ring hardened, flattened, cut or pinched

• Corrosion beneath the housing sealing surface
