Important fitment note:

• Confirm the forward-gear design and gearcase model.

• This bearing is not interchangeable with other forward- or reverse-gear thrust bearings solely because their dimensions appear similar.

• Thrust washers and shim packs must be installed in the original sequence.

🔌 Function

The bearing allows the forward gear to rotate while carrying axial propulsion force.

Common signs of failure:

• Whining in forward gear

• Excessive forward-gear end float

• Gearcase lubricant contains metal

• Pitted bearing rollers or races

• Heat discolouration

• Gear tooth contact moves towards the edge

• Gearcase jumps or clunks under load

Installation considerations:

• Inspect the forward gear and thrust surfaces

• Check mating washers and races

• Set end float to specification

• Remove all metal contamination

• Confirm the clutch dog and reverse gear are serviceable

• Fill with the specified high-performance gear lubricant

• Pressure- and vacuum-test the gearcase
