A genuine Johnson and Evinrude electric fuel-primer solenoid for carburetted two-stroke outboards.

The primer replaces a traditional choke plate. When the ignition key is pushed during starting, the solenoid opens and directs pressurised fuel into the intake manifold or carburettor passages to enrich the cold-start mixture.

🔌 Function

The primer solenoid opens an internal fuel passage when energised. Fuel pressure from the primer bulb or fuel pump then delivers an enriched mixture directly to the intake for easier cold starting.
