Complete gearcase 0435474 was superseded by 5000356. The assembly uses the V4 90-degree small gearcase with a 2.00:1 reduction ratio and is one of the better-supported OMC gearcases for new aftermarket replacement assemblies.

🔌 Function

The unit reduces engine speed by 2.00:1, transfers power to the propeller shaft and selects forward, neutral or reverse through the clutch dog.

Common signs of failure:

• Unit jumps out of gear

• Driveshaft spline or pinion bearings are worn

• Housing is cracked near the skeg or carrier

• Water-pump output is reduced
