Wurth Stainless Locking Washer Suit M12 - Part Number: 044512

A Wurth lock washer in A4 stainless steel, to suit M12.

Wurth make it to DIN 127 shape B — the split spring washer with a right-angle cross section, not a serrated or toothed washer. Plain finish.

The split ends bite into the nut face and the joint face as the fastener is tightened, and the spring keeps some tension in the joint as things settle. That matters on a boat or a trailer, where vibration and heat cycling will walk a plain nut loose. A4 is the molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless — 316 in the other naming — and it is the grade specified for salt water, where A2 (304) rust-stains and then pits.
