🔧 Product Description

Genuine Used Evinrude Johnson Four-Cylinder 60-Degree Timing Wheel / Encoder - Part Number: 0513788

A genuine pre-owned Evinrude and Johnson ignition timing wheel used on selected 60-degree four-cylinder outboards.

Although sometimes described as a decoder, OEM catalogues identify 0513788 as a four-cylinder, 60-degree encoder or timing wheel.

The wheel provides accurately positioned timing references that are read by the optical ignition sensor. The engine-management and ignition system use these references to determine crankshaft position and control spark timing.

⚙️ Key Features

• Genuine Evinrude and Johnson used timing wheel

• Correct OEM part number 0513788

• Four-cylinder, 60-degree encoder configuration

• Works with the optical ignition sensor

• Provides crankshaft-position and timing reference signals

• Used on selected 90HP and 115HP V4 outboards

Important fitment note:

• This is the four-cylinder 60-degree timing wheel.

• Six-cylinder engines use a different encoder wheel.

• Confirm part number 0513788 in the ignition or electrical-system diagram.

• Inspect the timing slots and reference features carefully; bent, cracked or contaminated wheels may produce incorrect optical signals.

• The optical sensor and timing-wheel mounting hardware are included only when specifically shown or stated.

🔌 Function

The timing wheel rotates with the crankshaft and passes through the optical sensor.

Slots and reference features in the wheel interrupt the sensor's light path, producing signals that identify crankshaft position and ignition timing points.

Common signs of timing-wheel problems:

• Intermittent or complete loss of spark

• Incorrect ignition timing

• Difficult starting

• Engine misfires at specific speeds

• Engine enters a restricted operating condition

• Optical-sensor fault symptoms

• Cracked, bent or corroded timing wheel

• Damaged timing slots

• Loose timing-wheel mounting screw

• Contamination blocking the optical sensor path

Recommended checks before installation:

• Inspect the wheel for cracks, bending and corrosion

• Confirm every timing slot is clean and undamaged

• Inspect the optical sensor for contamination

• Check the mounting screw and washer

• Confirm the wheel sits flat and rotates without contact

• Perform the factory optical-ignition timing procedure

• Verify ignition operation on all four cylinders

📦 Condition

• Genuine Evinrude or Johnson used part

• Pre-owned component

• Cosmetic wear, marks and light oxidation may be present

• Timing slots and mounting surfaces should be inspected before installation

• Sensor and mounting hardware are included only when shown or described

• Supplied in protective or equivalent packaging
