🔌 Function
The flywheel supplies rotational inertia, engages with the starter motor and rotates its permanent magnets around the stator to produce ignition and charging voltage.
Common signs of failure:
• Starter-ring teeth are worn or missing
• Starter pinion does not engage correctly
• Flywheel taper is scored or fretted
• Keyway is damaged
• Magnets are loose or heavily corroded
• Charging output is low or inconsistent
• Ignition performance becomes erratic
• Flywheel has cracks, impact marks or distortion
Used-part inspection points:
• Compare the stamped number with the original flywheel
• Inspect the complete ring gear
• Check the crankshaft taper and keyway
• Confirm the internal magnet arrangement
• Do not interchange solely by horsepower
📦 Condition
• Genuine OMC used part
• Previously fitted and may show normal age-related marks, paint loss or oxidation
• Supplied as pictured
• Confirm the stamped flywheel number and ignition-system compatibility before installation
