🔌 Function

The trigger coils inside the timer base generate timed electrical pulses that identify crankshaft position.

The power pack uses those pulses to discharge the ignition coils. Rotation of the timer-base assembly advances or retards spark timing as the throttle linkage moves.

• Loss of spark on one or more cylinders

• Intermittent misfire

• Spark fails when the engine becomes warm

• Backfiring or difficult starting
