Aftermarket BRP-Compatible Starter Motor - Replaces Part Number: 0586278

Brand-new 12-volt starter motor for a substantial group of Johnson and Evinrude two-cylinder 18HP, 20HP, 25HP, 28HP, 30HP, 33HP, 35HP and 40HP two-stroke outboards. It uses an 11-tooth starter drive and replaces numerous OMC starter references used across several generations of the two-cylinder engine platform.

Because production spans several decades, the complete engine model code and original starter number must be used for final confirmation. Do not select from horsepower alone.

🔌 Function

The starter rotates the flywheel and crankshaft until the engine reaches sufficient speed for the ignition and fuel systems to begin combustion.

Common signs of failure:

• Pinion remains engaged after starting
