Genuine BRP Evinrude Lower-Cowling Trim and Tilt Switch - Part Number: 0586789
A genuine BRP momentary trim and tilt switch fitted to the lower engine cover of selected Evinrude E-TEC outboards.
The switch provides convenient local control of the hydraulic trim system while servicing, launching or adjusting the outboard at the transom. Pressing either side of the switch signals the trim-relay circuit to operate the outboard upward or downward.

🔌 Function
The switch sends an UP or DOWN command to the trim-relay circuit, allowing the outboard to be raised or lowered directly from the engine.
Common signs of failure:
• Trim does not operate from the engine-mounted switch
• One direction works but the other does not
• Switch feels loose or does not return to centre
• Operation is intermittent when the switch is moved
• Water or corrosion is visible around the switch
• Wiring insulation is damaged
• Trim works from the helm but not from the engine
