🚤 Compatibility
Commonly associated with:
• White Evinrude and Johnson outboards
• Outboard finishes used from approximately 1981 onward
• Evinrude E-TEC white engine components
• Gearcases and midsections originally finished in Ocean Pearl or compatible white
• Replacement housings requiring factory-style refinishing
Important application note:
• Confirm the original paint colour from the engine model and year.
• White finishes from different production periods are not always identical.
• Use zinc-phosphate primer on exposed aluminium.
• Apply clear coat only when compatible with the paint system and original finish.
🔌 Function
The coating restores colour and provides a protective finish over correctly prepared and primed metal.
Common reasons for repainting:
• Paint chips expose aluminium
• Gearcase has been repaired
• Corrosion has lifted the original finish
• Midsection has been sanded
• Replacement component is the wrong colour
• Original finish is faded or scratched
Application considerations:
• Remove salt, grease and loose corrosion
• Feather damaged paint edges
• Prime bare aluminium with 0777172 or a compatible marine primer
• Shake the can thoroughly
• Apply several light coats
• Observe flash and recoat times
• Avoid painting anodes, seals, shafts and electrical grounds
• Use appropriate respiratory, skin and eye protection
• Spray only in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources
📦 Condition
