🔧 Product Description
Dunbier Hydraulic Override Trailer Coupling 50mm - 2000kg - Part Number: 1030
A galvanised 50mm hydraulic override coupling for trailers up to its marked 2000kg rating. During braking, the trailer drawbar compresses the coupling slide, operating the master cylinder and applying the trailer's hydraulic brakes without an in-vehicle hydraulic controller.
⚙️ Key Features
• 50mm ball coupling with hydraulic override actuator
• Galvanised marine-trailer finish
• Integrated master-cylinder and handbrake assembly
• Automatic proportional brake application through coupling compression
• Reverse-lock provision for brake systems that require it
📏 Specifications
• Catalogue towing capacity: 2000kg
• Tow-ball size: 50mm
• Brake actuation: Hydraulic override
• Finish: Galvanised
• Tow ball is not included

🚤 Trailer Compatibility & Application
• Suitable for compatible hydraulically braked boat trailers
• Brake calipers, lines and fluid must match the installed system
• Trailer ATM and road requirements determine whether override braking is permitted
🔌 Function
Uses trailer overrun force during vehicle deceleration to pressurise the hydraulic brake circuit and apply the trailer brakes.
Common signs of wear or replacement:
• Coupling slide binds or does not return
• Hydraulic fluid leaks
• Trailer brakes drag or fail to apply
• Excessive drawbar shock or clunking
• Handbrake cannot be adjusted or held
🛠️ Installation & Safety
• Install and adjust the complete brake system to applicable trailer standards
• Align the coupling with the drawbar and use rated fasteners
• Bleed the hydraulic brakes after installation
• Check the reverse-lock system operates only when required
• Test service braking and handbrake operation before towing on public roads
