A galvanised 50mm mechanical override coupling with a 3500kg coupling-body rating. 🚤 Trailer Compatibility & Application
• Suitable for trailers with mechanical disc brakes and correctly configured brake cables
• Use only within the lower of the coupling, spring, brake-system and trailer ratings
• Not suitable for hydraulic brake actuation without the correct master-cylinder coupling
🔌 Function
Converts compression of the sliding coupling during braking into cable movement that applies the trailer's mechanical brakes.
Common signs of wear or replacement:
• Slide binds, seizes or has excessive play
• Brake cable is not pulled smoothly
• Return spring is weak or broken
• Handbrake ratchet does not hold
• Coupling trigger or ball socket is worn
🛠️ Installation & Safety
• Verify the stamped coupling and spring rating before installation
• Set brake-cable free play so the brakes apply progressively without dragging
• Lubricate specified sliding and pivot points without contaminating brake components
• Check reverse-stop operation
• Have the completed brake system tested by a trailer-brake specialist
