🔌 Function

The dipstick tube provides a sealed guide passage from the engine exterior down into the oil sump so the dipstick can be inserted and withdrawn to check oil level. It also keeps the dipstick correctly positioned so level readings remain accurate and repeatable.

• Run the engine, stop it and let it stand, then confirm the level reads consistently and that the base of the tube is dry
