🔌 Function
The starter motor converts battery power into mechanical cranking torque. When the solenoid is energised, the pinion engages the flywheel ring gear and rotates the crankshaft until the engine starts and the pinion disengages.
Common signs of failure:
• Starter clicks but does not crank the engine
• Slow or laboured cranking with a fully charged battery
• Pinion spins without engaging the flywheel
• Grinding, clashing or delayed disengagement at the ring gear
• Intermittent operation caused by worn brushes, armature or solenoid contacts
• Excessive heat, burnt odour or high current draw
📦 Condition
• Brand new aftermarket replacement part
• New and unused
• Supplied in manufacturer or equivalent protective packaging
