🔧 Product Description

A genuine Volvo Penta injector nozzle retaining nut for injector assemblies 20451317 and 3803652. The precision threaded nut clamps the nozzle, intermediate disc, spring and shim stack together inside the nozzle-holder body. The nut is supplied individually; nozzle 20405851, spacer 11700430, spring 20405523, adjusting shim and retaining screw 20405525 are separate components.

🔌 Function

The fitting nut clamps a fuel line or fitting against its mating connection point, holding the joint tight and sealed. Correct torque on this nut is what maintains a leak-free fuel path.

  • Fuel weeping or seepage around the connection point
  • Loose or backed-off nut allowing air to be drawn into the fuel system
  • Rounded, damaged or stripped threads preventing correct torque

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Use a tool that grips all the flats — a flare or union nut is easily rounded off, and a rounded nut can neither be sealed nor removed cleanly
  • Clean the threads and sealing faces, and fit a new sealing washer or ring where one is used
  • Start the nut by hand and confirm it runs on straight before tightening, so the pipe or fitting beneath it is not cross-threaded or pulled out of line
  • Tighten to the figure in the workshop manual for your engine; over-tightening distorts the flare or the seat and makes a joint leak rather than sealing it
  • Support the fitting with a second spanner while tightening, and check the joint for weeping once the system has been pressurised and run
