🔧 Product Description

A genuine Volvo Penta exhaust manifold mounting stud for D16C marine generating-set engines. Two studs are used at the specified positions in the D16C inlet and exhaust manifold assembly. The stud provides the correct thread engagement and clamping length for the exhaust manifold and gasket stack while withstanding sustained exhaust temperature and vibration.

🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

  • Volvo Penta D16C-A MG
  • Volvo Penta D16C-A MH
  • Volvo Penta D16C-B MH
  • Volvo Penta D16C-C MH
  • Engine Family: D
  • Year Range: Approximately late 2000s onward, controlled by D16C-A specification number

⚙️ Key Features

  • Genuine Volvo Penta OEM exhaust manifold stud
  • Correct Volvo Penta part number 130200
  • Two used in the D16C-A manifold assembly
  • High-temperature manifold mounting application
  • Correct factory thread and clamping length
  • Engine type: Volvo Penta 16.1L inline 6-cylinder marine generating-set diesel
  • 2 used per assembly

🔌 Function

The stud provides a fixed threaded mounting point for clamping a cooling system component to its mating face. Torqued fasteners on the stud hold the joint and its gasket or seal in compression to maintain a leak-free coolant path.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Coolant seepage or weeping at the joint caused by loss of clamping load
  • Corroded or pitted stud threads preventing correct nut torque
  • Stripped, stretched or necked threads that will no longer hold torque
  • Seized nut causing the stud to twist or shear during removal
  • Broken or snapped stud leaving a fragment in the housing

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Clean and chase the female thread before fitting so the stud can pull down square and to full depth
  • Screw studs in with a proper stud installer or the double-nut method; gripping the plain shank with pliers or self-grips scores it and the nut will never seat or torque correctly afterwards
  • Screw the stud home until it seats as the manual for your engine describes, and no further — a stud wound in hard to cure a slack thread will simply split the casting
  • Renew studs that are stretched, necked, bent or corroded rather than reusing them; exhaust and manifold studs in particular are cheap next to the work of extracting a broken one
  • Tighten the nuts to the torque figures and in the sequence given in the workshop manual for your engine, and where a stud passes into an oil or coolant space seal it as the manual specifies
