A genuine Volvo Penta ignition contact-breaker kit for Bosch distributor systems fitted to selected Volvo Penta petrol engines. The breaker points open and close the ignition-coil primary circuit as the distributor cam rotates, creating the high-voltage spark required for combustion. Distributor number and breaker-plate layout must be checked because similar Volvo petrol engines can use different Bosch or Prestolite ignition systems.

🔌 Function

The switch kit forms the make-and-break contact set within the ignition circuit, opening and closing the primary current so that the coil can generate spark voltage. Correct contact condition and gap directly determine ignition timing accuracy and spark strength.
