🔧 Product Description

A genuine Volvo Penta one-pole electrical receptacle housing used throughout engine and instrument wiring harnesses. The insulating shell retains a female terminal, protects the electrical joint and provides the keyed connection to the matching one-pole tab housing. The housing is used in sender, switch, warning, control and accessory circuits across many marine and industrial engines. It should be matched to the original terminal family and mating connector rather than selected by engine model alone.

🔌 Function

The housing accepts and mechanically locks a single electrical terminal, forming one half of a connector so that the contact stays seated and correctly aligned. It also insulates the terminal and shields the joint from moisture, dirt and accidental contact.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Intermittent or lost electrical signal from the affected circuit
• Cracked, melted or heat-discoloured plastic body
• Terminal no longer latching or pushing back out of the housing when the connector is mated
• Corrosion or green deposits on the contact caused by moisture ingress
• Broken locking tab preventing the connector halves from staying joined

🛠️ Service Notes

• Isolate the batteries first, and note which way the housing sits and how the harness runs into it before anything is disturbed
• Move terminals across one at a time into the same cavity positions, releasing each locking tab with a proper extraction tool rather than pulling on the wire
• Check every terminal clicks fully home and locks before the housing is closed; a terminal that is not seated will back out under vibration
• Make sure all seals, grommets and blanking plugs are present and undamaged, and leave unused cavities plugged so the housing keeps water out
• Support and route the harness so nothing hangs on the housing, and check the connection is dry after the first run
