🔌 Function

The insulator electrically isolates a cable terminal or connector so current cannot track to ground or to a neighbouring contact. It also provides mechanical protection for the connection point against chafing, moisture and accidental contact.

• Renew rather than reuse anything cracked, crushed, hardened, charred or oil-soaked; a degraded insulator has already stopped doing its job
• Fit to clean, dry faces with the original fastener arrangement, tightened only to the figure in the workshop manual for your engine — crushing an insulator defeats it
• Look for why the old one failed, since the heat, chafe, vibration or leak that finished it will do the same to the new one
