🔧 Product Description

Genuine Used Honda BF115A / BF130A Front Balancer Shaft - Part Number: 13401-P5M-000

A genuine pre-owned Honda Marine front balancer shaft for selected BF115A and BF130A inline four-cylinder outboards.

The shaft forms one half of the engine's counter-rotating balancer system. It rotates in a timed relationship with the crankshaft and rear balancer shaft to reduce secondary vibration.

⚙️ Key Features

  • Genuine Honda Marine used front balancer shaft
  • Correct OEM part number 13401-P5M-000
  • Suitable for selected BF115A and BF130A engines
  • Counter-rotating vibration-control component
  • Works with rear shaft 13400-PT3-010
  • Original precision-machined Honda shaft

🚤 Compatibility

Commonly used on

  • Honda BF115A four-stroke outboards
  • Honda BF130A four-stroke outboards

  • Engine Type: Inline four-cylinder four-stroke
  • Representative Production Period: Approximately 1999-2007

Important fitment note

  • Confirm the shaft number and pulley arrangement.
  • The rear balancer shaft and gear case are separate components.
  • Incorrect balancer timing can increase vibration and damage the belt or bearings.

🔌 Function

The front balancer shaft carries an offset counterweight that produces an opposing vibration force as it rotates.

Working with the rear shaft, it reduces the second-order vibration naturally produced by an inline four-cylinder engine.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Excessive engine vibration
  • Rumbling or knocking noise
  • Worn shaft journals
  • Scored bearing surfaces
  • Bent shaft
  • Excessive end float
  • Damaged driven pulley
  • Balancer belt tracks incorrectly
  • Metal particles in the oil
  • Oil leakage around the balancer cover

🛠️ Service Notes

Recommended checks before installation

  • Inspect every journal
  • Measure shaft runout
  • Check end float
  • Inspect the pulley keyway and mounting surfaces
  • Check the balancer belt and tensioner
  • Inspect the case and bearing surfaces
  • Replace associated seals and O-rings
  • Align all balancer timing marks
  • Rotate the engine manually before starting
