🔌 Function
The engine-driven diaphragm pump uses crankcase pulses or a cam-operated lever to draw fuel from the tank and deliver a regulated low-pressure supply to the carburettor, vapour separator or downstream high-pressure pump.
Common signs of failure:
• Hard starting after the engine has been standing
• Fuel starvation, hesitation or loss of power under load
• Failure to fill the carburettor bowls or vapour separator
• Fuel leaking from the pump body or ruptured diaphragm
• Engine-oil dilution or fuel entering the pulse passage on a failed pump
