This is a genuine Volvo Penta valve tappet (cam follower) from the engine group, the component that rides on the camshaft lobe and transfers its motion up through the valve train. It serves the 30, 31, 40, 41, 42, 43 and 44 series marine diesel engines, and is the current replacement for several earlier tappet part numbers. Tappets are normally renewed as a matched set with their pushrods and rocker gear during a top-end overhaul.

🔌 Function

• Renew all 8 tappets in the set together, and inspect the camshaft lobes at the same time - a new tappet running on a worn lobe wears out quickly
