🔌 Function

The radiator hose transfers engine coolant between the engine and the radiator so heat picked up in the block and head can be rejected. It must hold pressure and resist heat and coolant chemistry to keep the cooling circuit sealed and flowing.

• Route the hose on its natural curve, clear of exhaust heat, belts and sharp edges, and support it in the original clips or ties — chafe and heat destroy more hoses than age does
• Refill and bleed the cooling system as the manual directs, then recheck the hose and its clips once the engine has been up to temperature and cooled again, since hoses and clips settle after the first heat cycle
