🔌 Function

Conveys engine coolant between the engine and the radiator so heat absorbed by the coolant can be dissipated. It must remain flexible and pressure-tight to maintain circulation and correct operating temperature.

🛠️ Service Notes

• Clean the spigots back to smooth metal before fitting and check they are not pitted or grooved — the hose seals against that surface, and scale left under it will weep
• Push the hose fully onto the spigot so the clip lands on hose that is supported by spigot behind it, and never trim or force a hose into a run it was not shaped for
• Fit new clips rather than reusing tired ones, position the screw or head where it can be reached, and do not overtighten a worm-drive clip into the rubber
• Route the hose on its natural curve, clear of exhaust heat, belts and sharp edges, and support it in the original clips or ties — chafe and heat destroy more hoses than age does
• Refill and bleed the cooling system as the manual directs, then recheck the hose and its clips once the engine has been up to temperature and cooled again, since hoses and clips settle after the first heat cycle
