This is a genuine Volvo Penta sealing ring from the inlet and exhaust system group, used to seal a joint within the induction and exhaust gas path. It is also supplied as a component of the corresponding gasket kit, and can be ordered individually when only the single seal needs renewing. This part number supersedes the earlier reference 876064.

🔌 Function

The sealing ring forms a gas- and pressure-tight joint between mating components in the inlet and exhaust system. It prevents leakage of intake air or exhaust gas at the connection it seals.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Audible hissing or exhaust leakage at the joint
• Soot staining, black streaking or carbon tracking around the mating faces
• Loss of boost pressure or reduced engine performance
• Hardened, cracked, flattened or brittle sealing ring on inspection
• Joint requiring repeated retightening to stay sealed

🛠️ Service Notes

• Always fit a new sealing ring rather than reusing the old one — a ring that has been compressed once has taken a set and will not seal reliably a second time
• Clean the groove or seat and check it for scoring, corrosion and old sealant before fitting; a mark across the sealing face will leak however good the ring is
• Ease the ring into place without stretching, twisting or dragging it over sharp edges or threads, and check it is seated squarely all the way round before closing the joint
• Do not add sealant or jointing compound unless the workshop manual for your engine calls for it, and tighten the joint or union to the figure given in that manual
• Check the joint for weeping once the engine has been run up to temperature and allowed to cool, as many sealing rings only show a leak after a heat cycle
