🔧 Product Description

Genuine Volvo Penta valve spring from the Engine system group, used in the cylinder head valve train of the 30-, 31-, 40-, 41-, 42- and 43-series marine diesel engines. It maintains closing pressure on the intake or exhaust valve so the valve seats fully and follows the camshaft profile without float. Valve springs are normally replaced as a full set during cylinder head overhaul to keep seating pressures even across all valves.

🔌 Function

The valve spring returns the intake or exhaust valve to its closed position and holds it firmly against the seat between opening events. It also keeps the valve train in constant contact with the camshaft so valve timing stays accurate throughout the engine's speed range.

• Ticking, tapping or clattering noise from the cylinder head area

• Visible cracking, breakage or corrosion of the spring coils
• Reduced or uneven spring free length and seat pressure when measured during overhaul
