🔧 Product Description
This genuine Volvo Penta spacer sleeve is a replaceable locating, spacing or bearing-support component used in the control-cable installation. It is manufactured to the original Volvo Penta dimensions and interface requirements so the supported component retains the specified clearance, spacing and location. In service, it maintains the specified spacing and alignment in the mechanical control-cable assembly. Fitment is controlled by the exact engine or product configuration and serialised parts list; confirm OEM number 1573057 against the installed assembly before ordering.

🔌 Function
The spacer sleeve sets and maintains the correct clearance and seating at a cable, terminal or fuse mounting point so the connection is held securely and consistently. It prevents components from being over-compressed or shifting out of position when the fastener is tightened.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Cracked, split or deformed sleeve body
- Loose or intermittent electrical connection at the mounting point
- Corrosion or oxidation build-up around the terminal or fastener
- Cable or terminal chafing where the sleeve no longer holds correct spacing
- Fastener that will not torque correctly or repeatedly works loose
🛠️ Service Notes
- A spacer sleeve sets a fixed length in the joint — never leave one out, shorten one, or substitute a stack of washers, or the clamping load and alignment will both be wrong
- Check that the sleeve is square and fully seated in its counterbore or recess before any fastener is tightened
- Discard a sleeve that is crushed, bell-mouthed, scored or corroded; a shortened sleeve lets the joint be over-clamped and the component distorted
- On sleeves in an oil circuit, make sure the bore is clear and that any seal running on the sleeve has a clean, unscored surface to work against
- Tighten the joint to the figure in the workshop manual for your engine, with the sleeve taking the clamping load rather than the component it protects
