Dunbier Axle Castle-Nut, Washer and Split-Pin Service Kit - Pair - Part Number: 1622C


A clamshell-packaged wheel-bearing retaining hardware kit containing two castle nuts, two axle washers and two split pins. Mackay A1368 is commonly described as a pair of 3/4-inch axle nuts and split pins for standard 39mm round through 45mm square axle families.

🔌 Function


Retains the hub and bearing assembly on the axle stub while the castellations allow the nut to be locked with a split pin.


Common signs of wear or replacement:


• Nut thread or castellations are damaged

• Washer is grooved, dished or heat-discoloured

• Split pin has been reused, bent repeatedly or corroded

• Bearing adjustment cannot be retained

• Nut has loosened because the locking pin is missing


🛠️ Installation & Safety


• Always use a new split pin

• Adjust wheel bearings according to the hub and bearing manufacturer's procedure

• Do not overtighten tapered roller bearings

• Align the nearest castle-nut slot without backing off excessively

• Confirm the wheel turns freely with no excessive end float
