This is the Volvo Penta double nipple, a threaded coolant-system connector fitting used to join hose or pipe connections within the engine's cooling circuit. It is the current replacement for several earlier nipple and pump-related part numbers, and it is fitted across a broad span of Volvo Penta marine diesel engines from the D5A and D7A through to the D16 and the older MD, TD, TMD and TAMD series. 🔌 Function

The double nipple provides a threaded male-to-male junction between two coolant lines or between a coolant line and a housing port in the engine's cooling system. It maintains a sealed passage so coolant can circulate between components without leakage.
