🔧 Product Description

This genuine Volvo Penta spacer sleeve is a machined spacing and alignment component used in the inlet and exhaust-system spacing/support location. It is manufactured to the original Volvo dimensional, material and interface requirements so the serviced assembly retains its designed alignment, sealing, load capacity and operating reliability. In service, it maintains the specified distance and clamp load between adjoining inlet/exhaust components. Selection must be confirmed by OEM part number 1660462, the exact engine/product model, serial number and the installed assembly configuration.

🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

  • Volvo Penta KAMD44P-B
  • Volvo Penta KAMD44P-C
  • Volvo Penta KAD300-A
  • Volvo Penta KAD44P
  • Volvo Penta KAD44P-B
  • Volvo Penta KAD44P-C
  • Volvo Penta KAMD300-A
  • Volvo Penta KAMD44P-A
  • Engine Family: KAMD, KAD

⚙️ Key Features

  • Genuine Volvo Penta OEM part number 1660462
  • System group: Inlet and Exhaust System
  • Net weight approximately 0.034 kg
  • Fits KAD44P, KAMD44P, KAD300 and KAMD300 series marine diesel engines
  • Compact spacing component for bolted inlet and exhaust assemblies

🔌 Function

The spacer sleeve maintains a fixed separation between two mounted parts so that fasteners can be torqued correctly without crushing or misaligning the assembly. In the inlet and exhaust system it keeps components correctly positioned relative to their mating faces and gaskets.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Crushed, deformed or shortened sleeve leading to loss of clamping height
  • Corrosion or heat scaling causing the sleeve to seize on its fastener
  • Fasteners that will not hold torque, with repeated loosening at the joint
  • Exhaust or inlet leaks and gasket failure caused by uneven clamping
  • Visible misalignment or rattling of the mounted component

🛠️ Service Notes

  • A spacer sleeve sets a fixed length in the joint — never leave one out, shorten one, or substitute a stack of washers, or the clamping load and alignment will both be wrong
  • Check that the sleeve is square and fully seated in its counterbore or recess before any fastener is tightened
  • Discard a sleeve that is crushed, bell-mouthed, scored or corroded; a shortened sleeve lets the joint be over-clamped and the component distorted
  • On sleeves in an oil circuit, make sure the bore is clear and that any seal running on the sleeve has a clean, unscored surface to work against
  • Tighten the joint to the figure in the workshop manual for your engine, with the sleeve taking the clamping load rather than the component it protects
