This genuine Volvo Penta bracket is a structural mounting and location component used in the radiator/cooling-package mounting bracket. It is manufactured to the original Volvo dimensional, material and interface requirements so the serviced assembly retains its designed alignment, sealing, load capacity and operating reliability. In service, it supports and locates the radiator and charge-air-cooler package on the engine installation. 🔌 Function

The bracket anchors and supports cooling system components or lines to the engine structure, holding them in their designed position. This prevents movement, chafing and vibration fatigue in the surrounding cooling circuit.

  • Cracking or fracture at bolt holes or bend radii
  • Corrosion, pitting or scaling that weakens the mounting
  • Elongated or distorted mounting holes causing component misalignment
  • Loose or vibrating cooling components indicating a failed or missing support
  • Chafing and wear on adjacent hoses or lines caused by a shifted bracket

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Offer the bracket up and start every fastener by hand before tightening any of them, so the component is not pulled into a strained position
  • Check the mating faces are clean, flat and free of corrosion scale — a bracket that does not sit flat will work loose and let the component move
  • Renew self-locking nuts, lock washers, tab washers or thread-locking compound wherever the original assembly used them, and tighten to the figure given in the workshop manual for your engine
  • Where the bracket carries a rubber mount or bush, renew that at the same time rather than reusing a perished one
  • On brackets in the inlet and exhaust area, never force alignment to make the holes line up — cure the misalignment at its source, or the bracket and the component it holds will both crack
