• Refit the original clips and brackets so the pipe cannot vibrate against anything, and tighten unions to the manual figure — overtightening a banjo bolt crushes the washer and the fitting and guarantees a leak
• Run the engine after fitting, check the unions for weeping and the oil pressure for a normal reading, then recheck when hot
