🔌 Function

The plug seals an unused or service port in the fuel system, closing the drilling against internal pressure. It provides a removable access point for servicing while maintaining a fuel-tight seal in normal operation.

• Fuel weeping, dripping or staining around the plug
• Air being drawn into the fuel system, causing hard starting or rough running

• Where the plug closes an oil, fuel or coolant passage, run the engine up to temperature afterwards and check the joint under pressure before signing the job off
• Keep removed plugs paired with the holes they came out of during a strip-down — plugs of very similar appearance often differ in thread, reach or sealing type
