🔧 Product Description

Dunbier Two-Part Slimline Marine Seal for AL-KO Axles - Part Number: 1718

A two-piece marine hub seal for AL-KO 65mm square axle family. One sealing component fits the hub and the mating ring seats on the axle spindle, creating a controlled running surface intended to improve grease retention and water exclusion during repeated boat-launching cycles.

⚙️ Key Features

• Two-piece marine grease-seal design

• Matched hub insert and spindle mating ring

• Improved water exclusion compared with a basic single-lip seal when correctly installed

• Designed for repeated immersion service

• Service replacement for compatible Dunbier/Mackay axle families

📏 Specifications

• Axle compatibility: AL-KO 65mm square axle family

• Hub compatibility: matching AL-KO 2.2-tonne hubs

• Reference: A1353 seal family

• Pack format: single service set

• Both seal halves must be replaced and installed as a matched set

🔄 Cross Reference & Related Parts

• Dunbier: 1718

• Related complete bearing-and-seal kits are available for the same axle family

• Do not mix one half with a different seal family

🚤 Trailer Compatibility & Application

• Suits AL-KO 65mm square axle family

• Confirm the spindle shoulder, seal journal and hub counterbore match the two-part system

• Not interchangeable with a conventional press-in seal unless the axle and hub were manufactured for conversion

🔌 Function

Creates a rotating marine grease barrier between the hub and spindle to retain lubricant and reduce water entry.

Common signs of wear or replacement:

• Grease escapes between the seal faces

• Water contamination returns after hub service

• Stainless mating ring is grooved or loose

• Elastomer section is torn, hardened or distorted

• Seal faces were damaged during hub removal

🛠️ Installation & Safety

• Remove both old seal components

• Clean and inspect the hub counterbore and spindle journal

• Install each half squarely with the correct drivers

• Pack and adjust the bearings before final assembly

• Check that the hub rotates freely without seal binding

📦 Condition

• Genuine Dunbier Marine Products trailer component

• Brand new

• Supplied as one matched two-part marine grease-seal set

• Supplied in original or equivalent packaging
